Here are the top three stories from today in Dunedin:

  1. An ensemble from the Dunedin Music Society has returned from a 10-day tour of Austria and Germany. The 2022 Florida Symphonic Winds European Tour traveled along the Austrian Alps, performing its first concert at Mirabell Gardens in Salzburg. The concert included 12 pieces of American and European contemporary and classical music. “As we played, some audience members were obviously deeply touched and there were shared tears between the audience and the band members,” Todd Emmer said. Between performances in Austria and Bavaria, the members went sightseeing. Highlights include a visit to Mozart’s birthplace, the medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Germany, and a macaroon festival! Read more about their journey in the full article. 2. Dunedin Parks & Recreation and Kelly Seigel Empath Health have partnered to offer a free Personal Legacy Writing Workshop on September 12 at 10 a.m. at the Hale Senior Activity Center. It is a natural human thought to want to feel that we have an identity and that our place on this earth really matters. A personal legacy document is intentionally created to last beyond your lifetime for the purpose of communicating feelings, values, wisdom, stories, and wishes. By creating a personal legacy document, you can keep your stories and wisdom alive for future generations. Free tools are available and materials will be provided upon registration. (Dunedin Patch)
  3. Stirling Wine has been selected as the filming site for the local filmWomen want it all!” According to restaurant owner Luanne Haver, “Stirling Wine provides the romantic, upscale, laid-back setting the production company was looking for to film a scene for their comedy feature film. “Women want it all! is a comedy starring four misfit men desperately trying to figure out what women want in order to be happy and hilariously fail. It will be in production until mid-October and will be released mid-next year. (press shot)
