A baby activity toy made in China is the subject of a joint recall between Canada and the United States due to a choking hazard.

Health Canada announced the recall of the Activity Loops toy in a June 9 statement that identified the manufacturer as Manhattan Toy Company, LLC, of ​​Dongguan City, Guangdong.

The federal department also noted that the recall is being conducted in conjunction with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The potential hazard is described on Health Canada’s website as: “Activity toy tubes may detach, releasing small parts that pose a choking hazard.”

Health Canada said the manufacturer had not received any reports of injuries or incidents in Canada as of May 13, 2022 and that the company had received three incident reports in the United States that did not involve injuries. .

The toy’s model number is 215210, and the lot codes are FCN or EAN and can be found on the bottom of the toy’s domed base. The UPC code is 011964482849.

The product was sold for one year in Canada, from May 2021 to April 2022, with 472 sales recorded. In the United States, according to Health Canada, 2,179 have been sold.

Anyone who purchases the toy is advised to immediately stop using it and return it to the point of purchase for a refund or credit.
