Picnic areas
What could be more romantic than enjoying a delicious picnic in a beautiful setting with a loved one? The south coast of KZN is home to 10 nature reserves that offer delightful picnic spots along the banks, near waterfalls, under the canopy of native trees. The botanical garden at Bellevue Guest Lodge and Eco Park in Ramsgate is also the perfect picnic spot, with some 200 native tree species, overlooking the Imbezane River. There are also beautiful accommodations for those wishing to extend their stay.
Helicopters, light aircraft and ULM flips
For couples who like a bit of adventure, admire the south coast of KZN from the sky with a flight in a helicopter, light aircraft or microlight. Experienced pilots from World of Wings, Airtrack Aviation and more are ready to make this date unforgettable by taking guests over oceans, forests, waterfalls and cities. And, with the annual Sardine Run show during the winter months, there’s a chance to spot whales, sharks and a host of other sea creatures in action!
Eland Lake Game Reserve

Set the mood with a picnic lunch while admiring local wildlife, enjoying a couple’s fishing trip or going on a memorable game drive. KwaXolo Cave Adventures
It is a date that will not be forgotten! Couples will take part in a guided hike up the mountain using a system of ropes and rungs attached to a rock face in the KwaXolo Caves, home to centuries-old San artwork.
