Rose Byrne Teams Up With Husband Bobby Cannavale For New Comedy Film


Rose Byrne and her husband Bobby Cannavale are once again teaming up for a new comedy feature featuring many more big-name stars.

Inappropriate behavior will follow a man named Max who blows up both his marriage and his career as a late-night comedy writer. Max disagrees with his ex-wife over how best to raise their 11-year-old autistic son and resorts to kidnapping him and taking him on a cross-country trip.

Cannavale will play Max while Byrne will play his ex-wife, and newcomer William Fitzgerald will play their son. Double Oscar winner Robert De Niro will play Max’s father, while Vera Farmiga, Whoopi Goldberg and OfficeRainn Wilson will also feature in the comedy from Closer Media and Wayfarer Studios. Phantom director and Scandal actor Tony Goldwyn will direct the film, from a screenplay by Tony Spiridakis.


This isn’t the first time Cannavale and Byrne have teamed up. They actually worked together on a number of projects before including Spy, Annie, Mrs. America, Adult Beginnersand more recently, seriously red.

The couple also have one more thing in common – superhero movies. Byrne starred in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Apocalypse as CIA agent Moira MacTaggert, who helps James McAvoy’s Professor X and Michael Fassbender’s Magneto set up the X-Men.

Cannavale, meanwhile, featured in both The ant Man movies. He played Jim Paxton, the new partner of ex-wife Scott Lang (Paul Rudd). It’s unclear at this time if Cannavale will return to the role in the upcoming third The ant Man film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Byrne was last seen in the Apple TV+ series Physicalwhile she will also appear in 2023 Insidious 5. Cannavale is currently starring in the Marilyn Monroe biopic Blondin which he plays Monroe’s second husband, former New York Yankees baseball player Joe DiMaggio.
