Paramount’s unsettling new horror flick, “Smile,” will make you want to do something else. In the new trailer for the haunting film, written and directed by Parker Finn of ‘The Hidebehind,’ a doctor named Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) gets a nasty surprise when her patient, worried that something is looking for her, becomes the victim of a a new, unexplained curse that forces him to smile before meeting his untimely end. As the mysterious disease begins to spread, Dr. Cotter realizes that she must “confront her troubling past” if she plans to survive this disturbing new illness.

Like a cross between “It Follows” and “The Ring,” “Smile” features all the must-have horror movie elements: a seemingly harmless but mystifying curse, a deadly countdown timer, and even a nightmarish alert at the end of the night. ‘official. trailer.
