Way of the Househusband gets live-action movie adaptation
Netflix’s The Way of the Househusband is getting a live-action film adaptation produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment, which will debut in the summer of 2022.
The Way of the Home Husband is set to receive a live-action film adaptation that fans can expect to release in early summer 2022.
According to Anime news network, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced on October 3 that a live-action film, inspired by the manga The Way of the Home Husband, is in production. Movies official site reveals that the lead cast from the title’s latest live-action effort will reprise their roles for the new film.
The Way of the Home Husband started out as a manga, written and illustrated by Kousuke Oono, which was first serially published in manga magazine Kurage group in 2018. He follows Tatsu, a former yakuza boss who gives up his life as a criminal to become a stay-at-home husband. The series has since spawned an animated adaptation produced by studio JC Staff and two live action series: a drama produced by Nippon TV which premiered in October 2020, and a short series, titled The ingenuity of the housewife, with Kenjiro Tsuda which premiered in August 2021. The anime and The ingenuity of the housewife are both available to stream on Netflix.
The Way of the Home Husband The live-action film will be directed by Tochiro Ruto, who previously directed Nippon TV’s live-action drama. Actors reprising their roles include Hiroshi Tamaki as Tatsu, Haruna Kawaguchi as Miku, Jun Shison as Masa, Tamaki Shiratori as Himawari, Naoto Takenaka as Kikujiro Eguchi, Izumi Inamori as Ibari, Kenichi Takito as Torajiro, Yuta Furukawa as Sakai, Junpei Yasui as Sadogashima, Tina Tamashiro as Yukari, MEGUMI as Tanaka and Michiko Tanaka as Ota. Guest performances and the film’s plot will be announced at a later date.
The Way of the Home Husband mangaka, Koousouke Oono, made a statement about the upcoming project: “I was very happy when I heard about the movie ‘The Way of the Househusband’, thank you. Being able to watch it on the big screen of a movie theater has a surprise and expectation different from the drama. “
