What video game movie is The Rock in? internet has ideas

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be there another video game movie…and the internet has some ideas.

According to Johnson, it’s “one of the biggest, badass games out there” and it’s already led to a lot of speculation. Hinting at a relationship with Microsoft and Xbox, fans have speculated that it could mean a armament of war movie – but some of the best ideas are a little more… there.

IGNs Jada Griffin dreamed up more than a few possibilities. Kevin Hart and The Rock in a Dual Dragon movie? Sign us up. After all, the chemistry between the two in the recent Jumanji the movies just show that they could handle a video game adaptation together.

But there are plenty of other crazy ideas that could make for a perfect movie.

Dwayne Johnson as Steve from Minecraft is a hell of an idea… and it’s not exactly implausible either. Minecraft: The Movie has been under construction since 2014 and with a 2022 release date, we’ve barely seen anything from the project yet. Could The Rock lend his voice to the usually silent Steve?

There’s another popular game among us that targets The Rock…

The Among Us team is getting in on the fun by streaming The Rock as a teammate – or should that be an impostor?

Elsewhere, The Rock himself has answered calls to dress up as a bat in the classic Atari video game, Pong.

“Holy shit, that makes me laugh,” he said. “Additional player points for bouncing the pong ball off my pecs”.

It’s even been suggested that The Rock could star in a movie based on Getting over it with Bennet Foddy – the punishing climbing game that’s the perfect theatrical vehicle for The Rock’s pecs.

Personally, I’d love to see Dwayne Johnson wear a plush safari helmet and boxing gloves like the Codemasters classic, vertiginous. I mean, come on, he’s got the hair for it.

Either way, The Rock is thrilled to bring to the big screen a game he’s “been playing for years.” “I’m really excited to bring it to fans around the world,” he said. “Of course, we’re going to do the right thing for our fellow gamers, but really, we’re just going to make a great movie.”

In addition to this new video game movie, Johnson is busy. He is ready to play black adam later this year and even teased that his classic DC villain could even fight Superman at one point. It is also voicing Krypto the Wonder Dog in the next DC League of Super Animals movie and should Back in Netflix’s Red Notice Sequels.
