Youth Week activity gets kids skateboarding – Bundaberg Now

Youth from Childers and Gin Gin will have the opportunity to learn to skate as part of upcoming Youth Week activities.
Fastplant Skateboarding will travel to the area to hold the clinics, which last two hours each.
Mikayla and Taniah from Fastplant Skateboarding said it was their first time visiting the area after being contracted by the Bundaberg Regional Council to lead the sessions.
“We haven’t held a session in the Bundaberg area yet, but we’re looking forward to doing these two clinics in Childers and Gin Gin,” they said.
“We encourage young people to attend these clinics to learn new skills and to meet and interact with other children with similar interests.
“We believe that skateboarding is a great place to learn many life skills such as perseverance, perseverance and determination.”
The duo said the sessions were the perfect opportunity for everyone from advanced skaters to beginners to come and test their skills while learning a range of new tricks and moves.
“We encourage all kids of all abilities to come and try skateboarding,” they said.
“The sessions are suitable for children aged five and over, from complete beginners to advanced skaters.
“Attendees can expect the session to be a fun day with games and challenges for all to enjoy.”

Mikayla and Taniah said they hope to be able to teach new skills and build confidence for participants who may be just getting started.
“We look forward to meeting everyone and coming to the Bundaberg region and hope to see everyone there getting into skateboarding,” they said.
Those attending the Youth Week skateboarding event will receive a skateboard and protective gear.
There will be free morning tea, although attendees are asked to bring a drink, hat and sunscreen.
An RSVP and indemnity form signed by a parent/guardian will be required to participate in learn-to-skate lessons.
